ACLM Membership

Membership in the American College of Legal Medicine provides a number of benefits.

Membership is open to individuals who work or study in the field of legal medicine. For an explanation of membership categories, please refer to the member types listed below. ACLM reviews all applications for membership and reserves the right to deny membership to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for membership as specified in the membership requirements.

Dues may be deductible as membership in a professional association on your income tax forms. Consult your tax advisor for more information. To receive member rates for an event, you must first become a member, and then register for the event(s). These will be two separate transactions.

Options to Join:

  1. Choose the member type and complete the online application and pay application fee with credit card or create an invoice. IMPORTANT: Membership will not be active until application is accepted and annual payment is received. If you choose the invoice option, you will need to pay in 45 days or your application will be removed from the database.

  2. Download the application form and send in payment – check, credit card or PO.

Accepted Credit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express

A sponsor is required only if applying for Fellowship status: Download the membership sponsor form

    • $100 member application fee; $325 annual dues
    • A professional with either an MD, DO, or DDS degree AND a JD degree, all degrees from accredited schools, and licensed to practice in either profession.


International Fellow
    • $100 member application fee; $295 annual dues
    • An applicant who resides permanently in a country other than the United States or Canada, and who has both a Medical Degree, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Dental Degree and a Law Degree, or their equivalents, is teaching or practicing medicine, osteopathy, dentistry or law in accordance with applicable laws or governmental regulations along with documentation to verify that the applicant is lawfully permitted to practice or teach Medicine, Dentistry, Ostephathy or Law in the country of residence.


    • $100 member application fee; $215 annual dues
    • A physician, attorney, dentist, nurse, health science professional or other person with recognized medical-legal expertise and the appropriate degree from an accredited school.


International Member
    • $100 member application fee; $195 annual dues
    • A medicolegal professional residing outside the U.S. or Canada.


  • No application fee; $25 annual dues
  • A full-time student in an accredited professional medical, dental or law school.


Membership period: January 1 - December 31

Member rates for an event:

To receive member rates for an event(s), you must join first and then register for the event(s).These will be two separate transactions. Organizational membership-when joining as an organizational member you will need to complete you membership process and make payment. Once your membership is active you will then need to sign back in and go to sub-accounts in the profile to add your contacts.
